Noah Lazar is an award-winning filmmaker and designer who currently attends NYU Tisch, majoring in Film and Television. He is a proud alumni of LaGuardia High School (the school that inspired the show Fame), where he specialized in technical theater with a focus on costumes and puppetry. 

His desire to master writing, directing, and designing comes from a strong belief in the power of cohesive storytelling. Noah Lazar hopes to create art that conveys a clear message through every aspect of its production.

Rabid Love

Deep in the forest, a lonely wolf falls madly in love with a human woman...

Rabid Love is a coming-of-age shadow puppet short film by Noah Lazar. 

Mother of Pearl 

(Designer)

Mother of Pearl is an asymmetrical cape designed and draped specifically to be worn by Noah Lazar's mother.

This piece is meant to highlight the beauty in deformity, inspired by the idea that pearls begin as deformations in sea shells.

Our Secret

(Designer)

Our Secret is a pair of webbed gloves designed, sewn, and dyed by Noah Lazar.

This piece is inspired by the feeling of vulnerability and the burden of self-image.

The Bi-Catch Dress

(Designer)

The Bi-Catch Dress was designed, draped, and built by Noah Lazar using a recycled fishing net. Each metal stitch was fastened by hand. 

The piece is inspired by queerness, fantasy, and fear. 

Rising Stars

(Host)

Noah Lazar and his collaborator Ally Hyman were selected to co-host Rising Stars, LaGuardia High School's celebrated talent show.

Together, they wrote and performed their act in a theater that seats over a thousand audience members. 

The Rabbit's Cage

(Writer, Director, Designer, Puppeteer, and Editor)

The Rabbit's Cage is a short film about isolation told through puppetry and theatrical design. 

Noah Lazar spent four months designing and building all the puppets, sets, and costumes for the film.


The Old Cow

The Old Cow is a one-act play about a dairy cow and an aging woman who is slowly being consumed by her husband. 

Carnivorous Cod

Carnivorous Cod is a short story about two boys, stuck on a boat, searching for a sea monster.
